Indians that resulted in a loss.)

The Twins have not been a great power team, but Denard Span and Brendan Harris went deep Sunday. Span is hitting .315 and has been great in the field.

If you look at team batting averages, you see one great asset: There's no real weak spot in the lineup. Span's done so well he's now leading off. Nick Punto, .284. Mike Redmond, replacing Joe Mauer for a day, is hitting .270. Justin Morneau, at DH on Sunday. didn't have a hit or an RBI but is still hitting .313. Jason Kubel, in left Sunday, .260. (Delmon Young, the usual left fielder, is hitting .293.)

Mauer was three for four with a run and two RBIs, while Nick Punto, Brendan Harris and Delmon Young had two hits.

Scott Baker didn't have a great outing, but it was good enough. Nor was the bullpen perfect, but it was up to the task.

Justin Morneau, Delmon Young, Brian Buscher, Brendan Harris and Alexi Casilla had hits in the inning.

If you watched the highlights of the game, you might be surprised that Mauer didn't run like a catcher. He scored from first on Morneau's double -- the guy can motor. (Remember he was rated a top quarterback prospect and had a scholarship offer from Florida State.

he crowd that everyone had looked great in Spring Training.

Then, Ron Gardenhire, Pat Neshek, and Brendan Harris addressed the crowd, and answered questions ranging from Neshek's favorite pitch (fastball), whether Harris was enjoying his new team (yes), and how many times Gardy expected to be thrown out of games this year (none). No one believed him.

The rest of the infield, though, is all question marks. Brendan Harris may bring more offense at second base, but he has yet to show it based on his performance in spring training. Adam Everett is a top defensive shortstop, but again, his potential offensive contributions are a real question mark. At third, Mike Lamb should provide more offense, but he's never played a full season as a regular player and it remains questionable whether he'll live up to the defensive standards the Twins usually expect from their fielders.
