Or should we credit Denard Span, who had two hits, knocked in the winning run and made a great catch in right field? The kid has been great. He's hitting over .300 and has been spectacular in the field.

Finally the Twins grabbed a lead in Seattle they could keep, thanks to rookie Denard Span.
This game was pretty much all about Span. He was three for five with four RBIs and caught a ball that would have gone yard and given the Mariners the lead.

The bullpen had a great game, making up for a poor start by Kevin Slowey, who allowed six runs in three and two-thirds innings. The pen allowed no runs in seven and one-third innings. The winner was Matt Guerrier, who lost the second game in Fenway Park -- when the Twins were up three runs.

Center Field: All three contenders for the position, Carlos Gomez, Denard Span, and jason Pridie have had some playing time and the good news is that so far all three are showing signs of having a positive impact. Everyone has at least one hit, Gomez and Span have each led off a game with a single and a stolen base, and in Sunday's ninth inning Pridie came up with the bases loaded and two out and got a clutch base hit. If this keeps up, the twins will have justv what they want, three players fighting to win the job instead of finding ways to lose it.
